The location was beautiful and perfect, for example, The Alamo Fort was just a short walk away from the hotel.
Pity, but the beds were very uncomfortable.

My stay was quite mixed. While the hotel was modern and had some great amenities, the dining options really missed the mark for someone like me who is both vegan and gluten-free. Even with a lovely room and a great view, the process of getting a microwave to heat my own food took far too long, which left me a bit frustrated. Nonetheless, it was only a short distance to popular attractions like The Alamo and San Antonio's charming historic sites, which I thoroughly enjoyed visiting.

First off, Thompson's location is prime for exploring local eats. Ocho at Hotel Havana and Copper Kitchen are just a hop away! Love the slick vibe of the King Room with City View-dark hues and comfy king bed, perfection. Plus, those refillable water bottles? Game changer!
Now, here's the kicker, no microwave for heating my gluten-free munchies until an hour later! I ended up a bit hangry. Plus, for $420 a night, the experience didn't quite match the hype.

Luxurious, Luxurious, Luxurious

Choosing a five-star hotel came with perks, like complimentary water in refillable bottles and stations on each floor. The king room featured a lovely city view, a cozy bed with crisp sheets, and a luxurious shower room adorned with marble tiles and a spacious vanity. A family-friendly pool area created a noisy environment, detracting from the intended relaxation. One room was reported clean but didn't meet expectations overall.

great stay with a few minor issues
The welcome drink of water in refillable bottles was a thoughtful touch that I appreciated. Our king room with city view offered a fine view and had a beautifully designed interior that mixed mid-century modern with industrial touches.
The check-in process felt a bit slow compared to other luxury hotels.

I appreciated the recycle refillable water bottles provided at check-in, a thoughtful touch. The king room with city view offered a lovely view of the surroundings. The mini bar was well stocked, and the bathroom was equipped with a large double shower.
I found the reception staff somewhat unfriendly. The process to get a microwave to heat my food took quite a while and affected my experience. The pool area was quite loud.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially the king room with the gorgeous city view and the stylish mid-century decor. Taking a dip in the rooftop pool and unwinding in the steam room were such highlights after a long day of exploring. I did notice the mini bar could use a few more snack options, but it didn't really spoil our time 😊
